Zorro, New World Series

Oh, come on now! Everbody knows Zorro! Diego de la Vega returns from Europe to his home town Los Angeles to find it's under the tyranny of the Alcalde (spanish for mayor). Anybody openly fighting this man ends up in jail or worse. So Diego decides to fight him in disguise of a black-robed man in mask, caled Zorro (spanish for fox). His only confidant is a mute young man, Felipe, whom he had taken in years ago. Everyone else admires Zorro, but thinks Diego to be a bit too studious and absolutely useless with the sword or in practical life in general. This causes some very amusing and sometimes also frustrating moments, especially when Diegos's secret love Victoria is involved, who has eyes for Zorro only. This series was abruptly discontinued with one and a half seasons already written but not yet filmed. Nontheless, the showdown is breathtaking. Just ignore that in this version, Zorro occasionally seems to have all the knowledge of coming centuries (taking photos and such) and enjoy the action, the humour, the romance and friendship.
